About Dr. Jacobus
A New Jersey native, Dr. Jacobus proudly provides patient-centered care to the local community. After experiencing the life-changing power of oral and maxillofacial surgery following a work-related injury, Dr. Jacobus dedicated his life to delivering the same life-changing care to patients in need. He feels a particular passion for restoring lost teeth through dental implants, as that is the procedure that returned the aesthetics and functionality of his smile.
When searching for a practice to call home, Dr. Jacobus wanted to find a place where local dental practices could collaborate to ensure that only the highest quality patient care was being provided. At Somerset Oral Surgery, he can do just that. Because he has been on both sides of oral surgery, Dr. Jacobus is particularly driven by the knowledge that the work he does helps patients regain confidence through dental reconstruction. He understands how anxiety-inducing the idea of oral surgery can be and works to ease anxious minds by thoroughly explaining the available treatment options. His primary goal—aside from providing the highest quality services possible—is to make every patient feel like family.
Education & Residency
In 2011, Dr. Jacobus graduated from Seton Hall University with a bachelor of science degree in biology. Following his undergraduate studies, he attended Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine and graduated with his Doctor of Dental Science degree in 2015. The following year, he earned his medical degree from the New Jersey Medical School. In 2021, he completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.

Outside the Office
In his free time, Dr. Jacobus enjoys hiking, biking, and boating. He, his wife, and their son are deeply involved in animal rescues and foster senior dogs.
