Dr. Michael Bell lived most of his life in Union County, NJ.  He attended Rutgers College in New Brunswick with a major in chemistry.  He had several acceptances to PhD programs in chemistry at Rutgers, Penn State, and University of Colorado before being accepted at UMDNJ – New Jersey Dental School in Newark (renamed to Rutgers College of Dental Medicine), where he earned his DMD degree.

Teaching has always been one of his passions, which he pursued by tutoring other students in dental school and instructing his newer residents while serving as chief resident during his surgical training.  He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Nova Southeastern University/Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  He spent a significant amount of time helping diagnose and manage head and neck cancer patients, performing dentoalveolar surgeries and reconstruction, performing outpatient anesthesia procedures, and treating facial trauma patients.

Dr. Bell joined the Somerset Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Group in 2017, and shortly after joined the dental faculty at Rutgers part-time to teach clinical oral surgery to dental students.  When not in the office performing surgeries, he enjoys hiking, camping, target shooting, working with computers and electronics, and exercising.

“The staff was caring and amazing. The dentist was friendly and explained everything. I would highly recommend this practice.”
