Pre-Operative Instructions
Back- For patients under eighteen (18) years old, a parent or legal guardian must be present throughout.
- Opt for comfortable attire, preferably a short-sleeve shirt. Avoid rompers, dresses, skirts, crop tops, jumpsuits, or waist trainers.
- If you use an inhaler, remember to bring it along on the day of your surgery.
- If you've been prescribed a preoperative sedative, ensure you take it as directed.
- Bring any applicable removable appliances such as a flipper, Essix, or dentures.
- Unless otherwise directed by your surgeon, you can continue your normal daily medications with a small sip of water.
Local Anesthetic Surgeries (Patient Is Awake)
- No need to refrain from eating or drinking; carry on with your normal daily routine.
- If you've taken a preoperative sedative, arrange for a licensed driver to accompany you to and from the appointment.
IV Sedation Surgeries (Patient Is “Asleep”)
- Refrain from eating or drinking for 8 hours prior to your surgery, including water.
- Avoid wearing makeup, jewelry, or bringing valuables. Remove nail polish from both index fingers, including gels and acrylics.
- Ensure a valid, licensed driver is present during check-in; rideshare services are not acceptable.
- Your designated driver must remain on the premises, in their vehicle, throughout the procedure.
